Lisa, I would say that 75% of my prayers are answered affirmatively; more are answered than not, which indicates to me that it's more than just chance.

As for the prayers that are not answered, I believe it's because I've asked for something Jehovah doesn't want at this time.

Small prayers are answered rather routinely. Big prayers take more time and effort, and I'm less likely to get a favorable response.

Small prayers, like getting a list of congregation members; and big prayers (for me), like not having to take the DMV written test when my DL was renewed, which I was really worried about.

Although it's a lovely thought, the universe is incapable of granting prayers. No.

keyser, I'm not more important than anyone else, but perhaps He saw potential in me that He didn't see in most others.

The Bible has some interesting things to say about prayer:

"You do ask, and yet you do not receive, because you are asking for a WRONG PURPOSE..." (James 4:3)

"...no matter what it is that we ask ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he hears us." (1 John 5:14)

For our prayers to be answered by Jehovah, we have to pray for proper things with a proper motive.

Yes, I still believe in prophecies. I think the next 18 months are going to be very interesting.

Not their fault, but not Jehovah's fault either.

But they will not be forgotten. Jehovah will resurrect them soon, and they will live forever, if they want to.

Finallyfree, God works in mysterious ways. I can remember God answering my 'prayers' even before I became one of JW's. I guess He knew that if He could keep me alive long enough, I would eventually serve Him.

Data, my most recent experience (just a few days ago) is that I have been wanting a list of the members of my congegation so I could figure out how to spell and pronounce their names. I asked the Secretary of the congregation for a copy of his list but he would not give it to me because it has the addresses and phone numbers of everyone, and I guess he's not supposed to share that info.

Well, they recently, this month, compiled an updated list of our field service groups and posted it on the bulletin board, and there were several copies there, so I grabbed one.

Prayer answered!
